La Pulgita Loca is a small weekend market on Hillcroft Ave in southwest Houston, in the heart of one of the city’s most established Latino commercial corridors. About 25 vendors set up shop Friday through Sunday starting at 7 AM.
The inventory skews toward everyday goods — clothing makes up most of the stalls, with a smaller selection of tools and furniture scattered in. Prices are low, and that’s not marketing speak — reviewers in both English and Spanish consistently point to the pricing as the main reason they keep coming back. “Precios súper super bajos” is how one regular put it.
It’s not a treasure-hunting antique market. It’s a neighborhood pulga where people come to find what they need at prices that make sense. Parking is free. If you’re in the Hillcroft/Bellaire area on a Saturday morning, it’s worth a walk-through — just don’t expect it to take more than 30 minutes.
